When apple released the ipad, I thought is was a cool device, but way overpriced. I was glad when Archos released this for waayy less money. I did a lot of research before buying the 101. The main thing I wanted was a 10″ tablet with capacitive touchscreen, USB host support, expandable memory and HDMI output. One thing to note is that it does not have the google marketplace preinstalled, but I was able to do a google search on the device itself for “google marktplace on archos 101″ and download/install the Google market in 2 minutes. The browser works well and is pretty fast, the camera is horrible, but I bought it knowing that. Build quality is pretty good, I’d give it a 4/5. I rarely use the kickstand, but some people have reported it gets loose after a while. As other people have reported, the viewing angles aren’t the best, but I rarely notice. I also looked at the G-tablet by viewsonic. I liked the G-tablet because is has the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core chip and more ram 512mb vs 256mb. But the G-tablet has hard buttons for navigation where the Archos has them on the side of the touchscreen. This is nice because they automatically move when you switch from landscape to portrait. Also the buttons are not backlit on the G-tablet making them difficult to find in a dark room. I purchased a keyboard case for the Archos for sixty dollars and it works really well. I have not used the bluetooth funcionality yet, however I plan on getting a BT mouse for my 101. Overall I would say this is a great value for the price.

I like just about everything on this tablet but it does have two things that are not so good. The camera not so good and they claim it will run movies for 6 to 8 hours. Well you can get 1.5 movies and you will have to recharge the battery.
